ENNEAD (엔네아드) is a Korean manhwa/webcomic created by Mojito.

Synopsis[]

Witch Comics Korean synopsis: "이집트 왕권을 두고 펼쳐진 호루스와의 승부! 세 번의 승부 끝에 호루스가 승리하게 되고! 반신이 되는 형벌을 받고 자신의 죄를 직접 마주하기 위해 인간 세상에 내려간 세트! 가장 낮은 곳에서 마주친 자신의 죄의 무게! 그런 세트에게 접근하는 정체불명의 남자! 그는 세트에게 동행을 제안하고 …! 세트를 지켜보던 시선들은 그들을 뒤따르기 시작한다! 인간 세계에 떨어진 세트! 반신이 된 세트에게 휘감기는 각기 다른 집착과 욕망!"[1]

Tappytoon English synopsis: "The once peaceful land of Egypt has been stained with blood under the tyrannical rule of Seth, the god of war. Horus, son of the god Isis but not yet one himself, rises to challenge the throne and put an end to the chaos and destruction. Although the confrontation between Seth and Horus began with hatred, in time it becomes blurred by obsession and desire... The ancient mythology of Egypt comes to life as you've never seen it before in this compelling fantasy BL."[2]

Release Status[]

ENNEAD began as a black-and-white comic before it was serialized with Seoul Comics around 2018, redrawn, and colored. ENNEAD is currently 2 seasons long, with a complete 73-episode first season and 2 finale AUs (totaling 3 episodes), an on-going 128-episode second season, and a planned third season.[3] ENNEAD updates in Korean on the 9th, 19th, and 29th of every month, barring Korean holidays and hiatuses, and updates on 28th in February, and in English, French, and German on the 10th, 20th, and 30th of the month, and updates on the 28th in February. The Korean release is currently 6 episodes ahead of the English translation. It is ongoing in Chinese, Japanese, and Thai.

Episodes with version differences (18+/19+/Mature/Full/Complete version versus the 15+/16+/Older Teen version)[]

There are two versions of the story: the 18+/19+/Mature/Full/Complete version and the 15+/16+/Older Teen version. Changes between the two versions typically involve cut scenes and cropped panels for the 15+/16+/Older Teen version, but can also include changed dialogue and completely new panels with different scenes. Each season 1 ends with a unique non-canon story ("AU"). The 19+/Complete release's AU is 2 episodes long (S1E74-75), and the 15+/16+/Older Teen release's AU is 1 episode long (S1E74).

There is a completed physical release of season 1 in Korean, Chinese, German, Italian, and Japanese. There is an ongoing English physical release under Seven Seas.[4]

No physical release in any language for season 2 has been officially announced, but Mojito tweeted that a physical release for season 2 will seemingly be released after season 2 is fully released online.[5] Seven Seas possibly hinted they're preparing to print season 2 on their Webtoon site before its redesign.[4]

Hiatuses[]

Season 1 of ENNEAD was serialized by mid-2017,[6][7] but began on Seoul Comics on October 30th, 2018, and concluded on June 10th, 2020 with Season 1, Episode 73, with the Extras finishing release on June 30th, 2020.[8] Season 2 of ENNEAD began releasing on May 30th, 2021.[9]

ENNEAD went on a hiatus from August 19th, 2022 to December 25th, 2022.[10] The original Korean returned with on December 25th, 2022, with Season 2, Episode 48. The English translation returned on Tappytoon on February 20th, 2023, with Season 2, Episode 48.

ENNEAD went on a hiatus in Korean from June 29th, 2023 and returned on August 9th, 2023, with Season 2, Episode 68.[11] The English translation went on hiatus after August 30th, 2023 and returned on Tappytoon on October 10th, 2023, with Season 2, Episode 68.

ENNEAD went on a hiatus in Korean after November 29th, 2023, and returned on February 9th, 2024, with Season 2, Episode 80.[12] The English translation went on hiatus after February 10th, 2024, and returned on Tappytoon on April 30th, 2024, with Season 2, Episode 80.

ENNEAD went on a hiatus in Korean after November 19th, 2024, and returned on December 19th, 2024, with Season 2, Episode 109.[13] The English translation went on hiatus after January 20th, 2025, and returned on Tappytoon on February 20th, 2025, with Season 2, Episode 109.
